Insightful review, thank you. Joaquin Phoenix's quirky performance was distracting. Seriously, how did "you think you're so great because you have BOATS!" make its way into the movie? I kept wondering if Ridley Scott just gave him free rein to amuse himself by improvising, with questionable results.
