In our house, we pretend like G3 never existed, too. It’s especially difficult to watch the movie because it teases you with occasionally inspired moments that hint at its potential to tell a devastating story of Michael Corleone paying for the sins of his past. So much criticism focuses on Sofia Coppola’s performance, but the bigger travesty was Al Pacino hamming it up as Michael Corleone, a performance completely out of step with the dark, brooding Corleone he essayed in G1 and G2. Let us raise a toast to the epic G1 and G2!
